Dan, my heart goes out to you with all of your losses. I haven't experienced quite the same as you, but I know the feeling of being alone when immediate family is all gone and those around you don't quite understand.
I think I remember a Cat visiting for a short time, but not a Misty. May I suggest that you seek a Grief Counselor or a Grief Support Group? There are groups that especially focus on helping parents who have lost children. My mother considered going to a group that met in her area when my brother was killed, but she got too sick and also passed before checking them out.
