Maryann, just read this and I'm smiling. Friend called earlier and I got my weekly 'sermon.' Thought to myself, dear friend of mine, if you only knew I was discussing reincarnation with people at a message board you would really beef up your 'sermon.' I try not to let her annoy me, it's her upbringing and she really believes she's doing what God expects of her.
How awful to lose a brother, or anyone in that way! I hope the light that surrounded your mother that night consoled and convinced her that he went on to a better place and that he didn't suffer.
I've never experienced a light that way but have thought of certain people only minutes before a phone call came to tell me of their passing. People have told me after mentioning this to please not let them know when they cross my mind because they'd go to worrying. Hubby says it's just coincidence but I don't think so. Hadn't thought about our beloved N.C. born evangelist Billy Graham in a long, long time, mainly because he'd been out of the public eye for years due to advanced age. But the night before he died, he popped into my mind, wondering how much longer he had on this earth. The next morning I turned on the computer and the first thing I saw was Billy Graham, dead at age 99. God rest his soul, such a good man.
