You said that someone should have spoken out for Gabriel long ago. I am not that familiar with the case, but were there any warning signs that Gabriel was in danger before his murder? Did this defendant have a history of violent crime? If the answer is "yes" to either of those questions, society completely failed this child for allowing him to be in the presence of such an evil man. I am glad you spoke out, one way or another.
