It is a bit depressing, that in this day and age, people are made to feel "crazy" for experiencing something as commonplace as an ADC. Along with the fear of ridicule (or worse) and feelings of embarrassment that people feel when relating their wonderful experiences.
Books like "Hello from Heaven" have no doubt done a lot to help people cope with the ADC stigma, but unfortunately, both the secular atheists and religious institutions are not very welcoming with respect to our very real experiences. That may eventually change, but in the meantime, there is still a lot of resistance and hostility that is out there. |
