Hi Kate,I believe you did see spirit and its not uncommon.My belief is more and more are opening spiritually and seeing spirit is showing us that we have nothing to fear that life does continue on but just in a different state of being and those who share these experiences are helping those who question life after death,thats just my view.
When I read your post it brought back a time when I did a meditation to meet my spirit guide and I met a man in a monk's robe,I could not see his face,we did not speak but we connected telepathically,we sat across from one another and I did hear a name(one I am not familiar with,I mean I have heard the name but know no one with that name).I telepathy thanked him and left.That was a few years back and I can still recall like it was yesterday.
