I'm sorry to hear Amy is stilll unwell. Her meds may be the best, but they aren't working for her, so he needs to have a more curious and open mind. I agree with Maryann, perhaps seeing a Naturopath might help. I have been to a few in my time and found them a wonderful compliment to my health care. I liked that the mds were natural and felt safe taking them. A big reason I got better this year was building up my immune system through natural remedies.
I'll keep Amy in my prayers too!
